Since a long time have I looked for games software to run on OS Linux and I haven’t yet found any. Why does it happen? And there are no offers for MAC, IBM and Linux either. Have all producer getting money only from Microsoft or from the final users?
To answer the ‘why’: It is quite expensive to develop games for multiple platforms, and so most companies generally only develop for one platform. Since the largest PC market runs Windows, most studios only develop for windows.
That said, there are some alternatives. Check out http://www.linuxgamepublishing.com/ and http://www.transgaming.com
The first is a company that ports Windows games to Linux. The second company produces a WINE-based "compatibilty layer" that will allow you to run normal Windows games on Linux.
Windoze dominates the market so the majority of PC games come out for Windoze. that being said some games also come out for linux…. they are few. Quake 2 had a linux version and there is the demo for Unreal Tournament. Most retail companies ignore linux in their lineup of titles, so a linux user has to hunt down a game you really like. The other option is hope it can install and run under WINE.
