im looking to make a simple video game, perhaps a very simple version of pokemon or a platformer like mario. Does anyone know of a good software that i can download for free? i am not looking for a demo or trial version, just something basic.
i have changed my mind after looking more closely at the complexity of these games, instead i am going to create a basic tertis-like game.

Game maker 7 is good for people that want to make a pc game but don’t want to learn all those complicated languages
RPG Maker is another good program for making pc games and again no need for complicated pc languages
both of which are free
i’d recommend Game Maker 7 for the tertris game and if u still want to make your pokemon/platform game
